This studio continues the development of ideas and concepts introduced in earlier courses, shifting the general focus to “people and places,” and introducing issues of interpretation and use by your intended audience. The key thing in the course is the structured introduction of research and design methods and processes and users. The projects will involve prototypes for both print and digital solutions and will introduce the practice of designing across platforms/media cohesively, including best case references from Graphic Design and UX.
Students utilized and applied advanced layout, type hierarchy, and grid to successfully communicate their research meaningfully to others. The students also organized their data into a context become usable and understood. They needed to apply visual storytelling to represent their data and research from interviews and observations.
